[Lord of the Rings Online] Anyone playing?

I played LotRO for a couple of months last year but put it away due to time constraints. Anyway, I've been following all the updates they've done and jumped back in this weekend and I'm really enjoying it again. It's a huge, beautiful world with a ton to do and a nice balance between casual, solo play and group questing.

I only know of Rodrigo and myself as the EN Worlders that are playing but I know I've seen mention of other people playing. We play on Arkenstone.

If anyone else here is playing, I think it would be cool if we could try to meet-up on the same server.

Let me know!

I've been playing since launch, and I really enjoy it. Good quest writing, excellent visual style, and I agree with the nice balance between solo/group. I also enjoy the benefit of the Founder's account, and love never having to pay for as long as I or LotRO live.

I still long for the real-timish combat of DDO, but couldn't keep a consistent group together in a viable level range.

Within the more standard time-click system of MMOs, LotRO has become my preference. That and my local buddies and I actually maintain a portion of our character stables as our Consistent Fellowship which we unleash on the world every Wednesday night.

Alas, we play on Gladden.

I tried the prerelease, but it just didn't grab me. Nothing bad really, but other stuff to do.

I know of a few folks that play and like it, but not I.

I play it, recently got a lifetime membership for the US servers (was a whole lot cheaper then it's on the EU servers). I 'needed' a fantasy MMO fix and LotR is a very good/fun choice. I'm currently playing (solo) on Vilya, but due to time restraints I've not been playing as much as as I would have liked.

My primary MMO fix is EVE Online, it's scifi and I need to do some fantasy so now and then. I have Guild Wars (no monthly fee), but that doesn't compare as well to the subscription based MMO. I've tried some of the free MMOs like Rappelz, and Sword of the New World. While some are certainly unique (like SotNW where you are a party instead of an individual), they still don't compare to a subscription based MMO. I played WoW for a month a couple of years ago (before I discovered EVE), played it for a couple of days with the release of the Burning Crusade expansion. But I played the LotR beta and some on the EU server, and it was more to my liking.

I've bought it, but haven't installed it yet. I was waiting, as I'd been spending so much of my gaming time on XBox Live.

Given I got three red lights two days ago, and will be without a console for the forseeable future, maybe now's the time to install, and give it a try. I was in the beta, and really liked it at the time.

They've definitely tweaked things in a good direction repeatedly since release last year, with additional quests, rewards, skills and crafting.

No class feels left behind, and with the last Content/Patch, they've opened up their 2nd new area.

When the Mines of Moria expansion comes out, it looks like it'll be opening up even more map area, and adding quite a bit of interesting stuff, like legendary gear that can level with you in some form of customized way.
