I had to vote Star Wars - not because it was actually better, but because I can never be 5 years old again.
I second that... I envy the five year olds who's parents let them watch lord of the rings... <sigh>Whisperfoot said:I had to vote Star Wars - not because it was actually better, but because I can never be 5 years old again.
Banshee16 said:Star Wars was *it* for years. My favourite. But as good as it was, it's looking awfully pale compared to Peter Jackson's work.
Lord of the Rings, hands down.
The latest two Star Wars films have taken the bloom off the rose for me. Lucas' attitude did the rest of the damage.

I hope so, but I don't think that anymore. Now I mostly just hope that EP3 is better than EP1 and 2.Flexor the Mighty! said:Personally I think EP3 is going to put all the doubters to rest.

And I'm assuming that the disappointment stems from your proconceived notions of the books and how it should be rather than how it was filmed. Meanwhile, with both the Matrix and SW, there is no preconceived notion other than the other movies. They are original creations and don't have the burden of being adaptations.Flexor the Mighty! said:I'm an extreme abberation in this forum, I walked out of Two Towers dissapointed, which was later cleared up for the most part with the EE, while I walked out of Matrix Reloaded & Attack of the Clones with a big smile on my face ready to tell my brother about the flicks.
Flexor the Mighty! said:I enjoyed EP1 & actually EP2 was quite good IMO. I had a blast watching it in the theaters. Maybe it was just better seating, less crowd, less expectations, I had more fun watching Clones on the big screen than TTT. When Yoda went nuts against Dooku I said to myself, "That's why Yoda is the big, bad Jedi master..." Good battles, nice effects, and Christopher Lee was great as Count Dooku, as is Ewen M. as Obi Wan. Nice flick.

Ummm... he said he didn't like TTT and did like Clones. You've got it backwards.Bass Puppet said:I understand why you thought TTT was better than EP2. The only thing you had to compare EP2 with was with EP1. I mean, I would have thought anything was better than EP1, but to compare the Theatrical version of TTT to (IMO my favorite of the three books) doesn't even compare.
