Lords of Madness Stuff (Update: Some folks have it!)

Man, I love that Wayne Reynolds shot of the Alhoon (it looks so dessicated it has to be!) in the Mind Flayer background. I swear, noone draws undead like him!

Not super-compelling stuff so far.

I wonder if the neogi will be republished in this, or will this essentially require a non-core book to use?

And am I the only one who can't remember if the grell are the ones who slither or the ones who float?

Yeah, WAR's stuff always rocks. This is one of the few WotC books I'm really looking forward to this year. However, it's a travesty that Bruce "Far Realm" Cordell's name isn't on the cover of this book. Hell, this should really be his book...

Cheers!

The neogi's flavor text are all over this book, as is that of the grell. Since both of them are in a 3.0 book (MMII), I'd be very surprised if they aren't reprinted. I am still ticked about them not reprinting some of the beholder-kin, though, so it's not impossible they won't be reprinted. Just not likely.

Demiurge out.

My expectations just went up because there wasn't a prominant mention of 'New Feats! New LA+0 PC Races! And even more new feats!'

This is good :)

And Wayne Reynolds just gained a divine rank in my book for that Alhoon picture. Damn that looks nice.

This good enough:

7. The Slave Takers: The vicious, spiderlike neogis are scavengers, raiders, and slavers, so they make great nemeses for a group of player characters. But the neogis also have a penchant for using mercantile activities to disguise their nefarious plots, and this factor alone makes for adventures that almost write themselves.

So, the 10 player reasons article indicated that neogi enjoyed a higher profile in older editions. Anyone know what the deal with them is? I saw their MMII entry, and was fairly "meh" about it. Evil slavers aren't anything new or rare.

I'd like to hear more about this beholder magic. In particular, I'd like to hear how quasi-beholders like gauths function without limbs. No TK ray to manipulate objects, and no charm ray to get others to manipulate objects for them. Floating quadriplegics basically.
