Did you catch the Easter Egg? On the monk's desk is a picture of the monk and an older woman. That woman is the same woman who tells Desmond that he is destined to go to the island and push that button for three years.

What's that about???

That was a good episode.

I suspect the woman who fell from the sky is a scout for Penny.

My wife asked me afterwards though.....what if Desmond had let Charlie die? Maybe the parachuter would have actually been Penny? And maybe it wasn't her, because he saved Charlie?

It would be pretty horrible if Penny was in the helicopter that crashed, and Desmond was running in the wrong direction..

Maybe the picture Desmond carries and the one in the book will be of Desmond and this girl now. Maybe by saving Charlie he changed Pennys.

That's my current guess.

Maybe... I personally doubt it, though. It looks like the show has shown us that Penny has a whole group of people working for her - I can't imagine she'd take a risk and go there herself quite yet.

Remember the backpack they find in the forest, with the book and the picture of Desmond and Penny? Well, I read on the 'net that the book is a Portuguese copy of "Catch-22" (also the name of this episode). I also read that those two guys in Antarctica (or wherever) at the very end of last season, the guys who called Penny about detecting an electromagnetic anomaly, were speaking Portuguese. It's not too big of a leap to conclude that she works for Penny.

He would have failed to learn his lesson about sacrifice.

I won't be at all surprised if this is the last of Charlie's near deaths. And even kind of expect it will.

I wouldn't mind that....I actually like Charlie, so it would suck to see him bite it. Though by the sounds they're making about the next five episodes, big events are coming. Of course, that's largely hype...yet, at the same time, they seem to have a thing with killing off survivors...hopefully they can have a cool climax without killing more people.

I still want to see one of the survivors lose it and eliminate a whole mess of Others.......or at least, I want to see the Others suffer somewhat, instead of having the upper hand all the time.
