I missed that. The only reference to Jacob that I recall was when the guy who was going to kill Sawyer said something like " Shepherd wasn't even on Jacob's list."
Which I took as the guy that took Claire and was killed.

I am so-so on this one. The good Jack taking action, being smart and in control. The bad, just tell each other that you are on another freaking island!
No kidding. Total agreement on all counts from me.

What was with Alex going nutty? Weird.

I think, she is Benry's rebellious teenager, that he and Juliet raised her and that as the chosen child she knows things and was treated different. The problem is dear old dad 'Benry' did not like her boy friend (guy in cage) and made him disappear. She thinks murder, because that may be they way they do things. OR, Benry has relations of a different kind with her than just being a dad.

She acted in a way to make me think she is Benry's daughter as well.

I was hoping for more in the episode. I'm not sure I'd really care if they killed off Sawyer at this point. They've really made him into a beaten down puppy.

More flys with honey, I think he was letting them think he was broke, so he could learn stuff.

You know, when Jack looked Benry in the eye, and said that he'd do the surgery if they got him off the island, I was thinking.....Benry could say "yes", and not be lying, if the Others are actually on a different island. They could simply stick Jack back on the island with the other survivors, and they wouldn't be breaking their word.

I wonder if that's reading too much into things, or whether it's a good catch? At the time that Jack got the promise from Benry, he didn't know they were on a different island. Jack never said "if I do the surgery, I want you to send me home".

It'll all be redundant, of course, now that Jack is essentially holding them hostage.

The Others are making me so angry. When Jack had the gun, I was so wanting him to shoot Benry in the forehead. These guys always have the advantage, and are playing with the survivors like a cat with a mouse, and it's aggravating..:(

I think Sawyer could revert to normal, if there was a clear chance that he could accomplish something. I suspect he'd lose hope, because the Others are so clearly in control, and he realizes that they hold all the cards. If there was a "way out", he'd do something, as I think was established when he fought those two guards.

I suspect that we won't see Jack, Kate, or Sawyer getting the boot anytime soon. They're central characters.

I have seen no reason to think the Others would care about keeping their word.
