Stumbling back Lorn threw up his staff raising an arcane defense in reaction to the grasping appendage.

Lorn raises an arcane shield of force. The spell blocks the grasping arm of of the his opponent, which wrenches at an unexpected angle from the spell.

[sblock=ooc]Shield spell negates the hit.[/sblock]

Hesh, ducks low, swinging his flail at the creature before him. The creature's long arms, along with the tightness of the corridor impede the warlord's attack, making it smash into the stone wall. Dust and stone chips fly away, showering the pair.

Thormir, bolstered by the wizards great defense, raises him arm, bereft of a rod of which he specialized in, speaks in a tongue unknown to all. He calls on the aid of the infernal beings he bargained with to gain power. His words speak meaning to the extraplanar beings, and they guide his power. A ribbon of darkness streaks out from the dwarf's hand wrapping around the choker's chest. The ribbon pulses, and the creature's vitality reinforces the dwarf.

Stellan 44/44 hp; 5/10(11) surges; 1 AP
Xandren: 30/42 hp; 8/11(10) surges; 2 AP
Hesh: 36/36 hp; 6/9(9) surges; 1 AP
Thormir: 31/42 hp 9thp; 7/11(10) surges; 1 AP; grabbed
Lorn: 29/31 hp; 4/7 surges; 1 AP
C1: -6
C2: -19; grabbing Thormir

Stellan shouts a challenge in the face of the closest choker, then brings his new axe around to finish drawing its attention his way. Even as his axe tears into its flesh, he manages to stay light on his feet in case it tries to move away and attack Thormir again.

[sblock=ooc] Free Action: mark all adjacent enemies
standard: Predatory Guardian vs. choker in X23, hits AC 27 for 11 damage, and if it shifts before my next turn, I get to shift 5 squares as an immediate response.[/sblock]

Xandren, confined by the narrow confines of the hallway thrusts his fullblade at the creature. The blow connects easily, as the creature has little room to dodge the large blade, but still only inflicts a minor wound.

[sblock=ooc]Xandren hits with a reaping strike with a 23 for 6 damage. [/sblock]

Stellan yells a challenge at the choker nearest him, swinging his axe if his words don't affect it. The creature flinches, not in fear, but instead to pull the warlock in the way of the axe. The axe bites deep into Thormir's side.

[sblock=ooc]Choker uses interrupt to make grabbed victim target of the attack. Thormir takes 11, so it does minor damage after his thp buffer.[/sblock]

Looking back down the hall, Lorn saw the dwarf struggling in the grasp of the other creature. He swore under his breath and then began to work his way back down the hall, trusting in the lingering magic of his shield spell to protect him. Squeezing by Thormir and then ducking under the uncannily long arm of the montrosity Lorn soon found himself face to face with the abomination. He thrust the fork of his staff at the things face.

Release him!

Once more the loud crack of thunder rang through the cave.

[sblock=ooc]

move: move to W22, I reckon that provokes an OA, but at least I should still have the +4 AC/Ref from the shield spell until the end of my turn and it's marked.

standard: Thunderwave: Int vs Fort (Area: X,Y,Z/23,24,25) (1d20+6=19)
Thunder Damage (1d6+5=6) and push C2 to Y23

minor: If the chocker was pushed back and if there is a torch within range (5 squares, I think you said there were some in the chamber) I'll mage hand it off the wall and bring it to X23 to wave at the choker and hopefully help hold it at bay.

Lorn attempts to move past Xandren and the choker to help Thormir. The proximity of Xandren's large blade the tentacle-like arms of the choker see that doesn't happen. The choker reaches out spine-covered fingers and grabs the wizard around the arm, Xandren swings his sword in response to the attack, but the closeness of the combatants makes the blow clumsy and the weapon dings off the wall.

[sblock=ooc]Lorn moves away and provokes OA from C1. Xandren misses his combat challenge with a nat 1. C1 hits Lorn with a 25(after the -2 from the mark) and takes 5 damage. Lorn is grabbed by C1. [/sblock]

[sblock=Oni]With the new situation, you can take a different standard and minor action.[/sblock]

No change in map.

Can you just apply my attack roll to the one that grabbed me and push it back down the hall if it hit?

Don't worry about the minor action, I don't suppose I can do much with it from where I am.

Continued....

Lorn sees his new situation and quickly modifies his initial plan. Pointing his staff at the creature, the wizard's voice booms like thunder, and several of the creature's rib break as it bounces back and forth between the walls of the tunnel.

The creature is not fazed though. It regathers it's senses and leaps back up the hall at the warforged, it's grey hide darkening to match the shadows. It's clawed hands dig deep into the stone and wood flesh of the warrior, and it hangs on.

[sblock=ooc]After being pushed back, the choker goes back to it's previous spot, and attacks Xandren. It hits with a 27 and does 9 damage.[/sblock]

The other choker, seeing the threat that Stellan poses, releases the dwarf and steps next to the wall. It's long arm barely snakes around the warrior's shield, and grabs Stellan by the forearm, bruising his flesh. The creature's skin colors as well, making it harder to see in the dancing torchlight of the main room.

[sblock=ooc]Attack and hit Stellan(barely) with a 19 for 6 damage.[/sblock]
