As fett mentioned, Kate's character may be a little shady and underhanded but in my mind this makes her a more interesting character. Doesn't mean I would trust her in person.
I'll be much more disappointed if there is some nicey-nice excuse for all of her actions and we are supposed to accept that she is "good at heart" or some crap like that.
The characters on Lost all have flaws, and this makes them much more interesting.

Do we really know the plane was in the safety deposit box? If I recall correctly, Kate took an envelope out of the safety deposit box but we did not see what was in it. On the island, when Jack and Kate opened the case we saw the envelope again, and Kate removed the plane from it then. It's possible Kate recovered something else from the box and kept the envelope, which she then used to hold the plane. That's my guess for the envelope.

I don't have much to say about Kate that hasn't already been said. Didn't get to see the episode until today. It was worth it though... yay gameday, yay! 
Lately the flashbacks have been far less entertaining than the present stuff. Both Sayid's and Kate's episodes I felt were rather disjointed with the actual happenings.
I'm surprised no one has mentioned this yet, but when Sawyer goes to threaten Michael, Jin leaps in in his defense. A far cry from two men tackling each other earlier in the season.
Also, I loved Charlie and Claire this week. "The Monster Ate the Pilot" is track two, I wonder what track one is?

If it was my album, track 1 would be something like "The Wreck of Oceania Flight 815" or "Mayday, Motherf**ker" ("but I'm just talkin' 'bout Oceania flight 815!"). Or something. Chronologically, anyway, it certainly fits.
