Lost Eberron 4E Style: Combat over, Level up!

After swinging his blade at the skeleton, Stellan rushes down the stairs, narrowly avoiding the skeletons longsword at it catches his cloak, cutting the fabric. He comes to a stop at the fallen hobgoblin. He is lying in a pool of blood, but still breathing, though probably not for long.

Cursing his inexperience in battle, Lorn calmly walks to the crack in the wall, and unleashes a blast of thunder upon those outside, including Thormir. The dwarf covers his ears as the blast rolls over him. His tough nature keeps the blast from hurting him. The skeletons that flank him aren't so lucky. The blast throughly turns them to power, which in then blown back from the force of the thunder.

The unknown undead creature strikes again at Xandren. It's claws scrape along his stone pieces, but they don't harm the warforged. Frustrated, the creature hisses, and strikes the side of the ship with a fist. "Get it!" he calls to the undead.

The skeleton on the deck of the ship goes to chase after it's prey that got away. However on it's way down the stairs it sees the unarmored mage and goes to strike a blow. The blade catches the wizard across the chest. Brownish colored seaweed erupts from the wood of the ship and grab the undead around the shoulders, wrapping it's upper body like a mummy. The vines push it over the stairs where it falls to the ground and break apart into individual bones. A pair of vials spill out from the contents of it's backpack, rolling to the edge of the stairs, within reach of the wizard. Silver Flame roils within them.

[sblock=Religion DC 15]The vials contain a fragment of the inspiration behind The Silver Flame. Commonly made by the priesthood to have this appearance, they are more than likely they are potions of healing.[/sblock]

[sblock=ooc]Skeleton moves down the stairs and attacks Lorn, hitting with a 28 for 4 damage. Stellan's mark takes effect, with a slide off the stairs, the skeleton fails the save and falls off the stairs, taking 10 damage and killing it.[/sblock]

The other armored skeleton strikes out at the warforged in obedience. The blade however is met by a hard horizontal parry from the warforged, bouncing the skeleton's blade back into the air, leaving it open to attack as the undead attempts to step to the side of the warforged. Xandren's large blade catches the undead in it's upraised arms as it steps to the beside him.

[sblock=ooc]Skeleton attack Xandren with a 14, miss. The skeleton shifts down the square and Xandren takes his attack. The attack hits easily with a 26 for 6 damage[/sblock]

Don't die on me, hobgoblin, Stellan growls in anger. I wasn't brought to this unknown land to watch the likes of you die! The careful movement of his hands as he bandages Hesh's wounds belies the gruff tone of voice, and he works to hide the relief he feels as the hobgoblin's bleeding slows and his breathing strengthens.

Xandren takes another swing at the armored skeleton, and attempts to carefully manuever his way back into the ship.

"If Hesh has stopped bleeding out," Xandren calls out to the rest of the group, "I could use some help over here."

Xandren lures the skeleton in place as he slashes and then steps back into the confines of the ship. Steel scrapes against bone as the blow connects, though the skeleton keeps on coming.

Stellan works on patching up Hesh in the rain. The water makes the wound slippery, but before long he has it wrapped well. His tirade at the hobgoblin must have been heard because Hesh opens his eyes, alert. Seeing this, Stellan weaves through the sand, growling at the skeleton threatening Thormir. The skeleton turns it's attention to the shifter.

Standing up, Hesh groggily gets his bearings. Remembering the thrashing from the skeletons, he lets out a spew of goblin expletives—which somehow makes the wounds hurt less. Looking around, he spies the golem dealing with a group on the other side of the ship and begins making his way over. Then, with a boisterous cry, he rushes at the skeletal warrior harassing Xandren. The smash of his flail resounds, and with a dirty look at the more tattered set of bones beside it, seems to draw the latter's attention.[sblock=Actions]Minor: Stand. Minor: Inspiring Word: 11. Hesh stands and wobbles on his feet. The hobgoblin lets out a string of curses in his own language. Feeling more himself, he walks around the ship and charges toward the skeletal warrior, his flail hammer's the creature's shield, it's arm hangs strangely at it's side. His prescence draws the attention of the other skeleton, and it steps closer.

Thormir relaxes slightly as Hesh regains consciousness. Yea that's tha way hobbo! Then he turns his attention to the other side of the ship: ignoring the weak skeleton next to him, he hurries to support Hesh and Xandren. Unfortunately, the flames from his spell don't reach their monstruous target.

ooc:yeah I had noticed and corrected that evo :) down to 9. I hoped to make the W pay had it attacked me thanks to hellish rebuke, but I rolled a 3 and now i'm in trouble,damn!

Thormir moves away from the skeleton, and the undead raises it's blade to strike the dwarf as he moves away. The skeleton doesn't get to finish it's swing though. Stellan is there and brings his axe down on the undead's shoulder. The weapon cleaves through bone, and the undead falls apart to lie at the shifter's feet.

[sblock=ooc]skelly takes OA on Thormir, Stellan interrupts with attack from mark. 19 to hit. Skelly dead.[/sblock]

As the warlock comes around the side of the ship, he focuses his infernal power on the undead creature that remains there. The fire fails to take hold against the undead as it puts the flames out with it's arms.

The remaining weak skeleton hacks at the hobgoblin's head with it's weapon. Remembering the darkness that had claimed him a moment ago was more terrifying than the minor wound the skeleton inflicts.

Lorn looked a the vials that had rolled into reach, his eyes widening as he realized what they were. He glanced back and forth between the vials and the fight going on across the wreck seval times trying to decide what to do. They could wait a moment. Finally making his mind he concentrated on the great rolling ball of fire he'd conjured to bring it back into the fight. The mass of flame began to move across the beach, steaming and hissing as it bowled into the undead monstrosities.
