Lost Eberron 4E Style: Combat over, Level up!

With a sudden burst of feline grace, Stellan sidesteps past the zombie and brings himself face-to-face with the fetid corpse in the river, his axe seeking to separate its head from its rotting neck.

With a sudden burst of feline grace, Stellan sidesteps past the zombie and brings himself face-to-face with the fetid corpse in the river, his axe seeking to separate its head from its rotting neck. As he steps into the mud, the stench from the creature overwhelms his keen senses. His eyes instantly water and his axe hits the water instead of the undead's head. The axe bites into something beneath the murky stream though.

[sblock=ooc]Miss w/ a modified 11. The water provides concealment, and the stench from the creature's prescence is a -5 to attack.[/sblock]

As Hesh feels his muscles weaken, he tenses up. He thinks of the plunge from the Dragon's Mouth into the icy waters below while trying to flank the Seventy Stinger's. He remembers the the strength he had to fight off the numbing cold... but it no avail. The stench, the strangeness, it is too much for him and his muscles seize up.

As the zombie thrusts at him, he attacks recklessly at the zombie, trying to cause it to overextend. He glances at the dwarf meaningfully to be ready. Hesh swings his flail, but his blow doesn't land as the chain wraps around the undeads leg, jerking it off-balance. The fist of the zombie does though, connecting with Hesh's weakened arm.

Thormir responds to the off-balance zombie, with a blast of arcane energy, hitting the undead in the chest. The flesh sizzles and pops, sending a putrid smell through the air nearby.

[sblock=ooc]Thormir hits zombie with EB with a 24 for 12 damage.[/sblock]

The crocodile, minorly wounded from Xandren's attack, lunges foward, quicker than he expected. It grasps the warforged in it's jaws, and doesn't let go.

Lorn gestured, the light bathing the battlefield died out and then sprang up again in a new place. Leveling his staff at the zombie hammering on the hobgoblin warrior he let loose another concussive bolt of force. Without waiting to see if his spell struck true Lorn circled around the small wreck taking a position upstream.

Stellan, becareful! I've seen one like that before, I think it will explode when it's destroyed!

He motioned for the warden to shift downstream.

Lorn gestured, the light bathing the battlefield died out and then sprang up again in a new place. Leveling his staff at the zombie hammering on the hobgoblin warrior he let loose another concussive bolt of force. The missle slams into the zombie, and one of the creature's fists explodes in a shower of bone and rotting flesh. Lorn moves away from his current position, taking cover behind one of the smaller ships.

As Stellan trades blows with the corpse in the muddy stream, the shifter notices, even through his tears, that the wounds of the reeking undead begin to knit themselves together, it's regenerating! The corruption corpse lifts it arm to strike at the shifter. Stellan, in panther form is much quicker, and bashes the zombie's arm with the side of his shield as it raises it's arm. This was where the shifter must have caught the undead moments before, as the purplish flesh continues to fall off the wound into the water.

Xandren attempts to shake the croc off by brute force, prying the creatures jaws open with one hand, his massive fullblade held easily in the other. Once free, The warforged steals himself before throwing himself back into the fray, landing what appears to be a massive blow against the reptile.

Leggo of my friend, ya overgrown lizard! shouts Thormir, and a hand of flame tries attempts to rake across the croc's back. Due to the fact that the reptile is still wet and it's thick scales repel the attack the flaming hand doesn't harm the beast. The hand disappears, and Thormir flinches slightly as he holds the fiendish power in his mind, ready to use again later.

Xandren shakes the croc off by brute force, prying the creatures jaws open with one hand, his massive fullblade held easily in the other. He brings his blade around trying to catch the reptile in the face, but the creature moves it's head to the side at the last second. His blade hits the beach, throwing sand atop the crocs head, blinding it for moment, allowing the warforged to kick it with a heavy boot.

[sblock=ooc]Xandren escapes the grab and shifts, misses with reaping strike.[/sblock]

The Zombie once again attacks Hesh, who is still weak from his wound. The creature's bad hand, exploded by Lorn's magic, hampers the creature, making him strike at the warlord with it's elbow. The blow strikes Hesh in the shoulder, but fails to hurt the warlord through his armor.

Stellan steps away from the river-sheltered corpse and presses his back to one of the ships. From this more secure location he draws thorny growth from the earth beneath his feet to attack his enemy and drag it toward him.

Stellan steps from the mud, and presses his back against one of the ships. He feels the cool waterlogged and barnacled covered texture against his back. He strikes out, thorny vines, rising from the water of the stream to connect solidly with the zombie there. Flesh rips from the torso of the undead as it is pulled closer to the shifter.
