Elise now suspicious of the lead females will address the rest of the clan. Are you really willing to follow these two? Elise motioning to Pptlek and the motionless one. Knowing you might lose a pup to their tyranny?

Have any of you had pups yet? Elise points to one of the older ones and hopes. Have you lost a pup to these archic practices?

Sorry Ces.

There is much shuffling of feet and shifting of eyes as many of the remaining kobolds glance at each other. Hesitantly, one and then another of the kobolds raise their hands.

One of them speaks up in a barely audible voice, "Yes we lose pups. But those pups dangerous. They maybe kill us if they get older. This way some pups live. Without them all pups die..." She shies away from Ppklik as Ppklik glares at her.

"We thinks about its, okay? Maybe we changes. You goes to see rockfield."

So only the males can have magic?! Elise addresses the one who spoke up. Have they told you what it is about females and magic that is so dangerous? I will tell you. It is lies!

Lies!
She adds again her voice raising. Females of all races can weild magic. Your lost pups can, I can She gives a wrist flick. Even some of you might be able to learn magic. There is no danger beyond what we create. Nothing to fear but our fears!

"You goes to rockfield, yes?" Mmlsis says softly. "I knows what you mean, and I teach them. Too sudden for them, and they afraid. You goes, and I fix."

Elise looks back and forth between the Kobolds. With a grunt she says loudly. Fine! But I'll be back.

Elise stomps off toward the rock slide. Sorry Ces. Elise says, guilt hanging on her words. I still want to help them but...

You cant expect them to break their way of living that easy. Ces says while padding Elise on the shoulder. Now shall we take a look at that landslide

They party takes it leave of the ragged kobold encampment, and heads back to the trail. There, the mule and few belongings seem untouched during your brief time away, although the mule appears to have stripped every green thing from within it's tethered area.

Without preamble the party restarts it's trek up the trail. As you proceed, the surrounding countryside begins to become more and more rugged until the party is traveling along a path with two rather large cliffs on either side. In spite of that, the trail does seem pretty well maintained with bracing in several places shoring up the 60 to 80 foot canyon wall.

After almost two hours, you begin to see what you believe is the rock slide. As you approach, you can see that the southern wall of the canyon appears to have collapsed, dropping the upper part down onto the trail. The northern edge of the trail (next to the north wall) appears free of rocks, but the rest of the trail is covered in several feet of new fallen stone.

From where you are, you can see no evidence of life.

ooc: Kritical Failure and Sirhahn both seem MIA right now, so I'll NPC them until they return.
