Lost Threads?

I remember a thread that was started on the old boards and moved to (I thought) this one, but I can't find it any more. The thread was orginally started by PoisonBlade and was an opportunity for people to post both specific and general information on their characters.

It was a great reference for coming up with a new char when you had a general idea of what you wanted and yet wanted to see how others had handled something similar.

I believe the older posts were copied here into a thread of the same name and that was done by Dontella, but I can't find the name and I can't find any thread started by her, and yes I've got the settings made to show all threads from the beginning. Do threads get dumped?

I can't even go back to the old boards. Hadn't they said those would be available in archive form for 6 months? I've been getting page-not-found for at least a month already, and the move was in June, *grumble*.

I just did a prune on these boards, so it is possible the thread was deleted. I tried to salvage anything that seemed to be an archive, but I'm not perfect. If threads don't get replied to once in a 30 day period, they become fodder. When I'm pruning, all I have to go by is thread name. Anything uber important I can see about adding to the website (in a month or two, when we're doing the updates).

Oh phooey.

I didn't know the boards were purged regularly, without notice (or maybe I missed any notice).

I think I've lost some poems off the thorn tree that I forgot to keep copies of.

Sometimes I write them out ahead of time, but sometimes I'm in the mood and only type them directly into the thread.

Oh well.

Now I know.

Oh, the original thread I was talking about is "Getting to Know Your Characters" and most of it *is* still on the old boards, thanks.

No there wasn't any notice. At least not this time. And that's my fault, since I do the pruning of the ISRP boards. But I do it every month after the first of the month, and go back 30 or 60 days, so warning does get redundant. If a thread doesn't have a reply within that time frame it comes up on my radar. All I have to go by is thread name. I do try and keep important ongoing threads up even if they haven't been replied to. But alas, I'm not perfect.

So moral is, save your important threads often, label them appropriately, and try to keep them active at least once a month.

If anyone, for some strange odd reason, saved the thread, or text of the thread called "Black Book of Stories" I am in desperate need of it again.

It was recently removed due to lack of visiting, because i was moving and was offline. And i have put so very much effort and time into those stories. Its quite a big chunk of melynxt's storyline. If any wizo could help me, or anyone...please I need that text back. So much work...all gone, with no notice. I can't rewrite all that...not even if i tried.........
