Some things are nice.
Still hate the paladin's magical mounts
I considered REALLY hard the notion of biting the bullet and going with the 3.5 spell list for ease of reference for the players, but I am sorry: they butchered it. The old specialization system worked; the new one just waters down the spell, makes the already weak sorcerer less viable by divvying out flexible spells, and still doesn't balance the schools as theorized.
Chucking the old cover and concealment rules was the most baffling rule of all. I think I understand why they did it, but it is not a good reason. D&D still is ultimately an RPG.
Similar reasons are behind the change to non-representative facings.
DR I am mostly on board with, but have pretty freely tweaked it to fit the feel I am looking for.
I'm not about the false dichotomy of saying 3.0 or 3.5 is better. Some things about 3.5 are better. Some are worse.
