Low level 28 point buy smackdown

In a min-max mood, so I've got another smackdown for y'all. Using 28 point buy, the splatbooks, Greyhawk races (inc. Wood Elf, Grey elf, etc.), and the 3 core rule books, what's the most min/maxed character you can create? Just for fun, start with a 1st level character, then take a look at him again at 6th level--he should be optimized at both levels.

Min/Max What? Fighter? Spellcaster? Whatever I want?

Whatever you want. Or, if you want some ideas, how about a character min/maxed for one or all of these goals:

1. Melee damage
2. Ranged damage
3. Magic damage
4. Mix of damage
5. AC
6. Versatility (most useful in most number of situations; in other words, NOT a mounted paladin with a lance)
7. Self-sufficiency (no reliance on outside spells/flanking/etc)
