Low Level Cleric Spells at Higher Class Levels

First Post
My dilemma is that I am unsure of my low level spell choices. Here are the PC's stats:

10th Level Lawful Good Elven Cleric of Mayaheine
Domains: War, Good
Str 16, Dex 16, Con 12, Int 10, Wisdom 16, Charisma 15
HP 69

Notable Feats: Extend Spell, EWP (Bastard Sword)

Significant Items: Scepter of Law (numerous powers including Dictum 1/month, Constant Protection from Chaos, and others), Slippers of Spiderclimb, +1 Chain Shirt of Command

Leans heavily towards Law, uses the Scepter of Law (Minor Artifact). Will start Contemplative PrC at 11th level. Party has two front liners (Barbarian and Paladin), plus an archer cleric of Phaulkon/OotBI, and an elven Wizard.

I typically use Flame Strike, Recitation, Extended Endurance/Eagle's Splendor/Magic Vestement, Greater Magic Weapon and Bear's Heart. I haven't used a 1st or 0 level spell for about 3 levels. Am I missing something?

The durations for the low level spells aren't long enough, I've used rounds casting everything else. What should I do? I don't even have time for a Divine Favor cause I'm bringing down the flame. I just feel like I am not living up to my potential.

What would you suggest for 0-3rd level spells? I figure:
1
Detect Chaos
Detect Evil
2
Buffs for everyone else
3
??

There are a few particularily useful 1st level spells.

Wieldskill (Magic of Faerûn - broken at lower levels and still useful at higher levels)
Divine Favor (with Persistent Spell almost broken)
Protection from Evil (unless you use the Magic Circles)
Detect Evil
Comprehend Languages
Endure Elements
Invisibility to Undead

For second level, the Buff spell's are really good, but there are some more, which could still be good.

Bull's Strength
Endurance
Hold Person
Remove Paralysis
Resist Elements
Silence

The third level also has some nice spells.

Magic Circle against Evil
Magic Vestment
Daylight
Dispel Magic
Invisibility Purge
Protection from Elements
Stone Shape
Water Breathing

Thaneee already listed most of the good ones, but here are a couple of suggestions:

1st:
Endure Elements (lasts 24 hrs, so with cyclical casting of Extended Endure Elements, you can be protected from all 5 element types all the time)
Command
Sanctuary

2nd:
Calm Emotions
Shatter (can be used very creatively)
Owl's Wisdom (for spell DCs)
Sound Burst

3rd:
Blindness/Deafness
Searing Light
Wind Wall

Aid - Bless and CLW (temp hp) for a front line fighter

Sprirtual Weapon - Often overlooked, but a very good spell, at 10th level it will last 10 rounds and will overcome DR when used with divine power will attack 2 times per round for 1d8. This is especially usefull for those dieties with high crit. favored weapons.

Prayer - Bless and Doom (all enemies) in 1 spell

Create Water
Detect Magic
Light

1:
Detect Chaos
Detect Evil
Light Extended (We hate torches! We all use bows, shields or great axes)
Protection from Evil (D)
Remove Fear

2:
Calm Emotions
Eagle's Splendor
Endurance
Remove Paralysis
Spiritual Weapon (D)

3:
Endurance Extended
Eagle's Splendor Extended
Invisibility Purge
Magic Circle Against Evil (D)
Magic Vestment

4:
Greater Magic Weapon
Holy Smite
Magic Vestment Extended (D)
Recitation

5:
Bear's Heart
Flame Strike

That's what I've settle for, but I still don't see a use for most lower level spells. They seem to be place holders for cures or that "perfect" moment. Thanks for the input.

Why don't you make a couple of Everburning Torches with Continual Flame (no feat or XP needed) and give one to everyone. You don't need to cast it on an actual torch, but can also cast it on somthing to hang on the belt or somesuch.

Thanee, that's an idea. Could cast it on our helms and look like the Human Torch ;) I hadn't thought of having an everburning torch that wasn't a torch.

One thing I do is cast a double extended deeper darkness on a normal dagger and keep it sheathed. 30 days at a whack, and you got a deeper darkness spell ready if you gotta run away! I wish daylight lasted that long!

Guess I could cast Continual Light on my sword and do the same thing I already do with light.
