Head over to WotC and download the Free Original Adventure "Dark and Stormy Knight" (1st-level tomb raid where you face:

[sblock] 8 rats, 2 hobgoblins, 1 medium spider, 1 lesser vargouille and a bugbear zombie, plus about 3 traps, all in 8 rooms. [/sblock]

I just finished adapting it to Eberron.

As a player in that adventure, I agree, it was fun.

Kinda. The monsters are typical for that CR level. I'd love to see some monsters that are a little more unusual.....but....

[sblock] ...the vargouille was very different & unexpected. Our group plowed thru it rather quickly, however. [/sblock]

I'll run it for only 2 PCs, but they'll be accompanied by a few "redshirt" warriors, so I can probably creep 'em out by slaying an NPC or three. :)

If you're willing to invest a little bit of work, you might want to check out the pre-populated adventure locations in the Dungeon Dive series.

The first one details a thieves' guild, the second one details an abandoned temple, and the third details an expanding demiplane.

They include monsters, treasure, traps, and hazards, but allow you to include your own plot and big bad evil guy.

That is a neat concept and those do look quite intriguing.
