Zinnelis Laediril, Elven Ranger (Level 1)
Silver Road
Travel had been smooth and easy, as Zinnelis expected this close to Venza. At mid-morning on the second day, however, the lead elf heard a commotion behind him and pulled Daisy up to see Autumn’s horse skittering nervously as the young female human druid disentangled from a small, winged creature. Zinn reached for his bow, but paused as the creature seemed to be begging for help. Zinn picked up Arradon slipping from the forest to rejoin the group.
“Autumn, everything okay?” Zinn asked, sliding from his horse, bow in hand. He thought he saw a flash of green as the creature pawed at her cloak and said something to her, though he didn’t catch what it was. What he did sense was that the woods were too quiet.
The reason became apparent as three white hounds with red-tipped ears step out onto the road in front and behind the party. Zinn eyed them warily.
“Friends of yours?” he asked the creature clutching at Autumn. Slowly he drew an arrow from his quiver to nock in his bow, just in case. Holding it there, he stepped toward the lone front hound a bit.
“Hello there,” Zinn said to the hound, his voice calm, soothing, almost hypnotic, as he moved to within thirty feet. “What are you doing out here?” He reached into his belt to pull out a bit of jerky to offer to the beast, tossing it onto the road near it.
