Barlo caught that Maui the tiger was not being so obvious after he became visible once again. He muttered softly, “Hmm, I probably should have made him invisible for longer. I thought he would have caught the bugger in around half a minute.”

He looked for a way down that would not so easily reveal their presence when approaching the were-tiger’s position. “I think we should go help our feline friend, but he looks like a mouser stalking his prey and I not want to disrupt his hunt.”

"Yes, he is a ferocious creature. I call him a jungle warrior, but he is actually a nature priest. Tane has blessed him in his endeavors, many of them I had the honor of accompanying him on. We should wait, but get ready to run to his assistance if needed."

Ethane shushes conversation and points to Maui, who is skulking ever closer to the target. With a little bit of patience, he manages to close in and avoid detection, eyes focused on the nearly completely obscured figure, lying low in the tall grass just at the edge of the grotto. The cave itself isn't much of a cave, it's not very deep and the mouth is very wide, to the point that you'd almost just call it a dent in the earth more than anything else. Navigating around the lily pond, Maui comes up behind the target and can finally make out details, still undetected.

Maui's quarry turns out to be a dark elf, female, and best described as 'youthful', although Maui cannot put a specific number to her age. She has dark blue-black skin and silvery hair, but otherwise, seems to be proportioned similar to the elves he's more familiar with, but perhaps even lighter. Her clothing is a combination of cloth and leather pieces, and generally in poor shape with some obvious hand fixes applied in some areas. She has a long (about 5 feet), cylindrical carrying case with a strap on it lying next to her, a satchel with some local vegetation peeking out from under the flap, a quiver with a handful of arrows and a dagger in a thigh scabbard. Laying down, she is presently looking through a parting in the weeds in the general direction of Maui's 3 compadres, but it's not immediately obvious if she has seen them or not.

Vincenzo hunkers down slowly as he sees the jungle cat-warrior stalk the shape in the bushes. he exchanges his rapier for his longbow.

First Post
Maui did not know what to make of this ink skinned creature. This left him in two minds about what to do. In his current state he could not speak. And the creature had done nothing to warrant being torn to shreds. So he decided to try and capture it her. Springing from his hiding place he attempts to land on top of the female dark elf, bite down on her neck without dealing any real damage, but pin her to the ground. Once he has her in his jaws he growls menacingly to let her know tht she should stay very still...

[sblock=OOC] NOt sure how close Maui got but I imagine not 5 ft, but within his 40 ft movement. NOt sure if surprise factors in mechanically in Maui's favour or not.

The idea is to move, and bite with Non -lethal dmg
-4 AC as she is prone; -4 atk for non-lethal dmg
Bite allows a grapple
1d20+16= 28 to hit; grapple roll: 1d20+16= 33

If he was close enough to full attack, he would try the same with claw, and try and pin as I imagine that grapple is likely to have succeeded.

Barlo shrugged, “Mayhap if we draw attention to ourselves that would help provide a discract-.”

Maui the tiger had pounced on the prey and there was no need for them to wait anymore. He put away his bow. "Come on!" he said to the others, gesturing for them to follow.

He rushed down the hill to aid the shifted druid in case the one they chased got away or decided to fight. As he went, he took out one of his nets.

Maui pounces on his quarry, going for the neck grip he thinks will subdue her quickly. After a little work (and a moment of squirming from her, which does little more than knock the long cylindrical tube next to her out of reach) he clamps down on the back of her neck, paws on her shoulders and arms, and effectively muscles her down into the grass. She cries out from it, but a low growl silences her and she ceases resistance.

Moments later, the rest of the group arrives, weapons and nets in hand. Ethane pumps his fist, congratulating Maui, "Well done, you've caught our spy, Maui! Now we interrogate her and hand her over to the camp? Actually, not sure what to do with her after, but definitely we need to know what sort of despicable plan has been inflicted on the good people of Tritower." With that, he points his spear at her in a way that would be considered menacing... if she didn't have a oversize tiger clamped onto her neck, already.

With the side of her face pushed against the ground, she warily eyes up the oncoming group out of the corner of her eye.

Vincenzo leans down and looks her strait in the eye, " Hello there. Who are you and what are you doing here?"

. . . . . . . . . Dark Elf . . . . . . . . .

There is a moment of silence before your captive speaks. When she does, it is a heavily accented dialect of Elven, and only Vincenzo can understand, and then, only with some effort. "I can't understand you," she complains, her words a little breathy due to the several hundred pounds of cat on her back and shoulders.

[sblock=Language]Vincenzo is the only one that speaks Elven without magical assistance, but if anyone has anything they wish to use, that is fine too. Just say so.[/sblock]
