The adventurers watch as a shark fin continues to circle in narrowing circles, when it is joined on the opposite side of your skiff by another shark fin. Both shark fins dive down at the same time, but not before you can see them submerge and point towards your boat before disappearing under the waves.

"Unnatural. It's like their being directed. I wonder if those fish-like spearmen that drove the crew off are responsible," Larry says aloud.

She gasps, "All right, Francis, I owe you a brew. Just so you know, this magician doesn't put on fish fries. Remember? Battlefield control trumps strength of arms." To Francis, "The tragic hero of an elven parable. He was lost at sea and ran ashore of a small uncharted isle. He mourned his pregnant wife who remained in their homeland, begging him not to take this voyage. A nymph in the coastal forest observed his mourning for three days and three nights, during which Zathriel remained prostrate on the sand, heedless of the tide. He did not not sleep, nor did he rise to eat or to relieve himself. His eyes could not dry out, as the sea lapped at his figure and prevented dessication in the summer sun. The nymph came to him. Blinded by love and despair, he saw not the unearthly beauty of the nymph but rather his wife, nude and beckoning. He followed her into the sea and never emerged. Oddly, given that nymphs are fey creatures, some tellers of the tale adjust it to describe an elf leaving the Other World for the Prime. Either way, the tale may impart two lessons. When this is over, I'll be curious which lesson you heard."

As for external die rollers, coyotecode.net has been quite stable for me and the history function is strong enough to maintain integrity so long as rolls are sufficiently well labeled and always use the same name ID. I'll be using it when the built in doesn't work.[/sblock]
