I got a slight Akira vibe from it for some reason. Looks interesting enough for a viewing to me.

That was my first thought - an American Akira with a female lead. I plan to see it. I have loved every Luc Besson movie I've seen.

About the only movies from him I liked were Leon and Fifth Element.
