Mainly I've just been throwing a root word into the search engine - to find a translation for 'to lie beside', I started searching for 'beside', but wasn't able to do much with the results. Searching for 'lie' was a little more fruitful for me. The entry for 'cubo' looked promising, and after clicking on the link to the 'Lewis & Short' link next to it, it pulled up the dictionary reference from said source. Apparently, cubo is the verb to lie down. At this point, the lightbulb over my head went off, and I realized that 'cubo' was a common root of succubus and incubus. I looked at the list of 'Words with Similar Definitions' listed on the page, and most of them seemed to be the root word with a few different prefixes attached. Any knowledge of Latin is a definite help, no matter how rudimentary. I'm relying on the one year of Latin class that I took more than 15 years ago, and the beat-up old copy of Wheelock's Latin that I carry around with me. Sorry I can't give any solid advice beyond 'just mess around with it a bit and have fun'.

I'm all for hearing about cool campaign ideas, and really, is there such thing as a gamer who doesn't want to expound at great length about the cool stuff in his or her campaign?Kemrain said:Sure thing. And, thanks. Been working on this for a while, and for the moment we're focusin on building up from what the main character knows. If you're interested, I can throw out some of the suppositions of what Hell is like, but it'll be very difficult to explain clearly. (I can always try, if you're interested, though.)

The search above lead me to accumbo, to lay oneself down, lie beside.Kemrain said:- Kemrian the "How would you say "To Lay Beside" in Latin?"
