Edit for clarification: This is D&D 3.5
So I was trying to get some clarification on a Supermount build.
The basic layout being Strongheart Halfling, Paladin 5/Beast Master 1/(Wild Plains Outrider 1/Paladin 6)/Halfling Outrider 4 or 5.
The variance would be if I meet pre-requisites for Halfling Outrider or not by level 7.
The questions I have is how the animal companion and special mount features are calculated.
The plan is to ride a Half-Celestial Fleshraker (for flight and only with DM approval) or another medium sized flying creature.
1) The question I have is how the bonus HD affect creature CR (with scaling CR templates like celestial and half-celestial)?
2) for a Flying mount I know the formula is CR+4 = Paladin level the mount could be obtained, does the animal companion CR just stack on top, or does it have to be adjusted as well?
2b) If they both have adjustments to the level, am I correct in thinking using as low a CR animal as possible is best to get the most bonuses?
You input is appreciated!
