Lycanthropes and armors

Rhuark

First Post
If I was to play a lycanthrope character (I would like to be a weretiger), do I suffer any inconvenience for wearing an armor when changing into the hybrid form? Weretiger hybrid form is a medium size humanoid (in 3rd edition), although the strength and constitution are increasing significantly. If an armor becomes to small for me, do you know any armor (special material or magic) that would adjust accordingly?

So long as your size remains unchanged, your armour should be able to accomodate your new form, since dnd is not really particular about your armour having to fit you perfectly (except maybe fullplate, but that also depends on how stringently your DM interprets that "must be custom-made" clause, since in theory, it may not be impossible to have a suit made to fit both your human and hybrid forms). :D

Considering the latest state of errata and published supplements you shouldn't have any problems wearing armor in both human and hybrid form.

I agree with the armor fitting part.

As an example go to Races of Stone and look up the racial substitution level for a Goliath Barbarian.

The Mountain Rage ability has their "size" increase, but since they already have the powerful build it specifies that it weapons and armor still work fine since the change is only slight (it does provide them reach). IMO this is probably the closest to exemplifying what you are trying to capture here.
