3 rings to bind them all!
I'm going to guess that a single rail going from top to bottom was impratical due to engine load?
I kept thinking that I posted my response.Hmmm. Less scenic, but how about two motors working in relay on a single rail to the top? One motor pulls the cabs up to a middle "reststop" (with the top motor just winding cable so it stays taunt), put that motor on neutral, top motor takes over (middle motor just unwinding cable so it stays taunt). There'd be some tricky bits at the middle reststop when the bottom-to-middle cable goes from pulling one way to unwinding the other way and the cabs have to go *over* the middle winch system, but I think that can be worked out, right?
ARE there cherries on this planet? If not, what would fit the "**** red" similee instead?
Uh, Not sure what you mean here. I was trying to describe a single cab, possibly with multiple wagons attached, being pulled up the slope, from the bottom all the way to the top, by two motors in succession. So basically two inclined lifts/elevators that are pulled towards and away from each other.
