[M&M] Need suggestions for WWII villains (Frontline Comics players, keep out!)

Maus ((Really big, really slow, heavily armored...)

The Occult Bureau might make a nifty bunch of supernatural or psychic villains.

Blitzkreig (should be a fast, lightning throwing villain.)

A whole bunch Norse mythology for a themed group, (Mjolnir (Thor's Hammer), Naglfar (a ship made from dead men's fingernails, shudder...) Surtr (Fire giant king.), Utgard Loki (Fire itself), Norn (Fate), Gugnir (Odin's spear, lit. the spear of destiny) , Ragnarok (The final battle) Garm (Really big mean dog) Fenris Ulf (Really big mean wolf, possibly a werewolf), and of course Jormungandr (the serpent that coils about the world) a good name for the group if you want a conspiracy feel!)

An odd possibility to the above is casting Loki as a power AGAINST the rieche. He seemes too much of a free spirit to side with Hitler &Co, villain or not. (I say to the gods, and the sons of the gods, the things that whet my thoughts. By the well of the worlds there is none with the might, to make me do his will!)

Just avoid tall blonde bodybuilders named Thor... (Who should have red or black hair anyway, as well as something other than a stonemason's maul... And was one of the few gods who actually LIKED Loki!)

There is a short story called 'Thor Vs. Captain America' where the Reich did just that: summoned up the old Norse gods to aid them in battle, which they did, leading to total Nazi domination of Europe and Russia very quickly. Loki defected to our side early on and was one of the only reasons there still was a war going on instead of a Nazi cakewalk. Then they discovered that what the Nazi's had done was tap into the collectice uncoscious of the German people (I think I have that part right), so the Americans were prepared to do exactly the same.

They got the Marvel Family :)

Actually, what Loki revealed was that the Germans created the Norse gods by using necromancy: the concentrated death energy of the millions slaughtered in the Holocaust. He waited to reveal this to the American soldiers until after they were captured and to be executed, and thus couldn't report it. So the Americans weren't faced with the choice of whether to do the same thing, commit mass murder by the millions to create their own heroes.

Interesting idea! I used to have an old comic book which depicted Captain America and his buddies (I forgot what the name of the group was, but there was his sidekick Bucky, Miss America, Torch... Union Jack? A few others, including I think Sub-Mariner) fighting against a Nazi super-hero team. I cannot for the life of me remember any of their names, aside from Red Skull who was the leader of the group. There was definitely a guy in a powered armor suit. There was a guy who was supposed to be like a human torpedo (U-Boot might have been his name). There was a vampire...

Okay, my memory failed, so I went looking for it on the internet. Success! This page has a list of all the opponents of the Invaders (the group of superheroes fighting for the Allies): http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/4775/villains.html

I was thinking of (name, what is s/he, German version of name):
Baron Blood (vampire) (Baron Blut)
Iron Cross (armored suit) (Eisenkreuz)
U-Man (was also Atlantean, like the Sub-Mariner) (U-Mann --pronounce the U like OO)
Warrior Woman (basically like Miss America, only Nazi) (die Kriegerin)
Master Man (basically like Captain America) (not a good direct translation, but you could call him Supersoldat, meaning super soldier -- remember to pronounce those Ss like Zs!)

You can find a description of all these villains at http://www.users.xeroanime.com/~handbook/

Except that Maus means mouse in German. I know there was a big panzer called that, but still...

Given that the Nazi party was really into Norse mythology, I think using some of these names is very appropriate. Maybe Ragnarok could be the name of the group? Sort of the "super weapon" to win the war?

A couple other thoughts regarding names and using German words. For a Flash-like character, the best German word is "Flink" But that does not sound too evil, does it? Blitz would be better than, since it refers to lighting, is familiar and easy to say and still refers to something fast.

If you want help coming up with German-language names, let me know. I would be glad to help.
