M&M Paragons

Whizbang Dustyboots

Gnometown Hero
Has anyone heard much about this? Other than the setting starting with superpowers only recently appearing, in what ways is it emulating settings like Heroes and Rising Stars? Have there been any previews out there that I've missed?

Freedom City does nothing for me -- it's nothing I couldn't do for myself, like I did for countless V&V games and online message board games in the past -- but Paragons sounds very intriguing and I'm curious what they're bringing to the table on this one.

Green Ronin follows the Blizzard tight-lipped model when it comes to releasing info. :(

GR said that they'd release more info as Gen Con nears so I'm hoping to see more previews soon. Paragons is #1 on my Gen Con 'must buy' list and I'd be very disappointed if the book's release date has been pushed back.

I've enjoyed reading Freedom City but it never inspired me to write my own adventures and get a serious M&M game going---the homages leave me a little flat. But what little we know about Paragons has me excited to write adventures, fiction, and finally found that long-term M&M gaming group.

I assume the intent is to have copies of Paragons for sale at Gen Con . That does not mean the book will be in wide release at that time though. We saw what happen with M&M 2E at Gen Con two years ago and the feeding frenzy it caused when the regular books were shipped from China much later.

I am a little put off by the M&M line getting pushed back. Hopefully things will get caught up soon. I know Green Ronin wants to expand their market but delaying products for their most popular game does not seem like the best course of action. Hopefully this new GRRM license will not push things back any farther.

I am basically the opposite. Supers in the "real" world holds no interest for me. I really do not need a book to do that. I live in society so I have a fairly good understanding of how it would react to super-humans appearing. :) I plan on using the characters in the book and the adventure as fodder in my four-color games.

Previews and design journals for Paragons are coming and will likely start right after we get back from Origins next week.

Glad to hear it! I'm toying with grabbing the two Astro City TPBs I'm missing just to fill the gap until this book comes out. :D
