M&M Sample Combat

I'm running a Mutants and Masterminds game and we've been a bit confused about how the combat system works. We settle on something that I think works and then find a rule the conflicts which our interpretation of the rules.

Has anyone seen a sample combat for M&M? Like the kind in the PHB that spells things our to the smallest detail.

There are always cases that won't come up in an example (e.g. using a hero point to wash being stunned, surging to complete a full round action while staggered, etc).

Note that this is not the "ask the designer of the game" forum, just other players.

I think he does a good job of statting out characters at a PL usable within the system. A lot of people tend to make well-known and established characters a much highter PL than I think they should be (PL 18 Cyclops, PL 20 Wolverine, etc.etc.). I think it’s much more useful to have most supers get put into the 9-13 range, because it serves as a good guideline when you’re trying to do a similar concept yourself.
