Seif took that in, then straightened and nodded up at the Beast. "Heat from Klatta's laser. When it glows cherry red, quenching water, bitter cold," a double gesture at the Ottoman and Shaughnessy, "simultaneously. Brittle, it *will* shatter if pierced." He did not gesture to his own weapons, but his meaning was fairly evident nonetheless.


OOC: Seif is suggesting a Combined Attack on the door. I think we'll get an auto-hit on it, but let's roll anyways, just in case we get some crits in there as well. :cool:

"If we think it's that tough," Brian says of Seif's combined assault plan. He moves down near Deezy to get a better look at the door, and looks away as his heat-senses flare with a look.

"As long as we're not in a hurry, with all the debris out of the way, I should be able to at least make a hole."

As he turns his attention back to the door, Deezy can feel the radiant heat from the metal dissipating, and as the young man continues to concentrate, a thin film of ice starts to form as the temperature of the metal continues to fall...

OOC: Brian's Weaken power is cold based, but ought to be sufficient for getting us through the door, if we're not under specific time constraints. DC 16 fort save, so it might take several applications of the power to get all the way through, but this way no one has to burn hero points for a non-emergency.

Deezy dons her goggles and scan's the hatch's surface..
Deezy Notice: 3 vs ??
... and doesn't notice and obvious weak spots due to the amount of grim that's covering the hatch.

Technically, since the door doesn't have fortitude it's an auto drain.
Hatch Toughness: 14 - 6 = 8

... and as he concentrates there is a loud crackling sound as the metal becomes brittle.

Seif charges forward with an impaling thrust...
Seif: 24 vs 9 --> Hit
...and hits it.
Deezy fires her omni blaster at the hatch...
Deezy: 22 vs 9 --> Hit
.. and hits.

Door Toughness: 18 vs 28 --> Injured, Disabled
Steel Hatch: Injured 1



Large cracks appear on the hatch as a result of the hatch as a result of the assault. The amount of damage on the hatch is such that it appears as if its hinges are barely capable of holding the door in place.

OOC: Since Sahid's attack won't cause any further improvement to the current combined attack, I'll wait to I see how he decides to attack before I finalize the first round of attacks. If he crits, I'll add it to the current score (to force a disabled result), if not, he'll just further injure it before the next assault.

Sahid leaps into the air and slashes at the hatch...
Sahid attack: 21 vs 9 --> Hit
Door Toughness: 17 vs 21 --> Injured
Steel Hatch: Injured 2

.. causing a foot think piece of metal to be carved from the door.

OOC: Looks like the next successful attack will destroy the door (assuming it's not Deezy :P that attacks), so whoever wants to destroy it, attack away!

Brian furrows his eyebrows and the cracks in the frozen metal spread.

OOC: If it's that close to crumbling, I suppose I might as well use the Flash Freeze attack rather than draining more toughness? DC 20 cold damage
