M1: Just a Treasure Hunt?? (Bront Judging)

Eyes widening for a moment, the Wizard spins and dives for his weapons, leaning next to his bunk.

Calling out, 'To Arms!! Steps outside the door!!" as Genithar gathers up his longsword, hunting crossbow, and his hip pouch of quarrels.

At the call to arms, Shadé rolls over and stands blearily. Grabbing the handle of her weapon she asks in a voice of newly found consciousness. What?

Let's not overreact, Genithar. I have seen no sign of weapon drawn against us yet. I do not imagine the captain would take kindly to us attacking his crewmen unprovoked. Despite his attempts to calm his friend, Corran moves within reach of his morningstar.
Now then, perhaps you can give us a bit more detail about why you think we should turn on our employer,[COLOR] he says to Plank.

Plank looks toward the door and says "I think we're good Greg, They can be trusted!! Gregory enters the room. This time not as well dressed. He is wearing ordinary traveling clothes but still carries his scimitar at his side. He looks to the group and says. "I apologize for the deception. It was important that I know I could trust you. Plank is a friend of mine and does not belong to this crew. I wanted to give you enough reason not to trust me and then test your words. You have done well and have earned my trust. I have much to explain now. We are not the only ones looking for this treasure. My brother Ethan is also looking for this relic I seek. He is employed by Morgraive University and has help from the Emerald Claw. Also House Cannith has scions looking to recover it themselves. The will no doubt try some of the same tricks to get you to betray me. I needed to know you would stand by me before we landed in Stormreach. The relic we seek is a powerful creation schema. Based on the research my brother and I have done I believe it will allow to someone who knows how to use it to create magical forges. These forges will take anything placed in them and duplicate it exactly. If our research is correct they could place soldiers in this forge and created entire armies in a matter of days. We have all heard rumors of House Cannith trying to open a creation forge on Xen’drik. If they do this and find this schema… let’s just say there are some bad possibilities there. Who knows what will happen to it if Morgraive gets their hands on it. Stuff is always getting ‘lost’ there. It must be destroyed. I need you all to help me. So, are you still with me?"

Genithar's mouth gapes as the deception is made clear. Obviously unnerved by such a twist the Wizard's face takes on a neutral cast as he listens to Gregory. Shoulders slumping as he hears of the other groups, Genithar finally asks, 'Do these other groups have a copy of the map? I will help you find this treasure. You have claimed the Schema as yours, indicating that the rest of the loot found on our trip and at the site will belong to we who would be your blade, shield, and advisers. Will you confirm this arrangement?'

"I have no need for the other items in the ruins. I only want to see this schema destroyed! I agrre to those terms. I can not say for absolute certainty whether the other groups have a map. However until about a month ago my brother and I were researching this together. So he does probably have a map."

Shooting a smirk at the shifter's dozing form, Genithar releases his weapons, placing them back by his bed as he asks his employer softly, 'May I enquire as to why your Brother is not upon this voyage with us?'
