M2: The Search for Goblin HQ

As the bolt enter his flesh, he can't stop some tears. He grabs the pick and Tenebrynn. "Sorry friend, but better you recieve the bolts than me..." He says to the fallen man, as he pull it as a human shield.

As Charlan arrive and says his prayer and advice, he gives him a quick look and tell him: "Please, am I suppose to be a masochist? And I'll pray too that your prayer will help me to get out of here alive."

He starts to pull out of the beach the fallen librarian.

Although if you were to ask Orsal, I suspect he could tell you the minimum number of HD Jezibel has

Hmmm... maybe I'll have to review the evidence some time. Offhand I can't say.

Two sahaugin bolts fly from the partly submerged archers. Both find their mark. One imbedding in Tor's leg (2 pts), the other hitting Rinaldo squarely in the back (10 pts bringing both Rinaldo and Tor to 1 hp) Several others are reloading or preparing their crossbows.

Seeing how badly injured the copper-skinned warrior is, Nurlan touches him with the wand. "Lehishtako!" He then begins to move back toward the horses.

Irene's sleep spell takes effect, centered on Jezibel. Jezibel remains uneffected, however, both the horse, and Ashnar find themselves unable to resist the effects, and are overcome by drowsiness.

Feeling sleepy all of the sudden, Ashnar's last thoughts before dropping into slumber are Someone is helping Jez....
In a dream, Ashnar continues to hunt Jezibel, never getting any closer...

"Crap" Irene mutters as she calls out to her party "Jezz is getting away! Stop her!"
She then starts the chase herself, sprinting towards Jezibel as fast as possible.

Round 32

Irene sprints forwards. As she runs, she sees Jezible mount and kick the horse into motion. Irene closes to within about 15 feet before the horses speed starts to lengthen the distance between them. Irene know she can't catch her now baring a miracle.

Tor and Rinaldo lug Somac and Tenebryn back up the beach towards the huts. They can only move them about 20 feet. Charlyn and Nurlan keep up, while using their magic. Charlyn casts his spell on Rinaldo, and Nurlan heals Tor significantly (8 pts)

Two bolts fly at the retreating heros. One hits Nurlan, causing him to stumble in pain. (4 pts). The other misses.

Round 33. By the time the sahaugins have reloaded, the six retreating heros have acheived cover behind the square hut, and can no longer see the archers. There are several horses on their right from the goblin raiders. They could try to cut through the trees to avoid getting shot, or take the direct route back to their horses which might reveal them to enemy fire.

Nurlan hears Irene's call, but realizes he can't make it to the horses in time to stop her. So he stops to use the wand on himself again. "Lehishtako!" (45 charges left) He then asks his friends, "Do you think there's any life left in Somac? The wand wasn't any help."

OOC: Nurlan is not going to move from behind cover until he's clear on the plan, a plan which will quite likely involve casting Expeditious Retreat

OOC: Would Charlarn be able to grab Tenebrynn's pick?

He then asks his friends, "Do you think there's any life left in Somac? The wand wasn't any help."

"What happened? I didn't see him go down with Jezibel escaping." Charlarn dumps his pack on the ground to get his healer's kit. As he opens the kit, he says, "Somac, can you hear me?" (Heal check +7)

"What happened? I didn't see him go down with Jezibel escaping."

Nurlan replies, "A fishman killed him. I think. I can't tell if there's any life in him. Nurlan is glad to have Charlarn checking the body, since the cleric has more experience with this. The wand is useful when someone is still alive, but doesn't tell him when there is no more life to be healed.

Irene tries to mount up as fast as possible and keeps chasing Jezibel.

Charlyn checks the fallen barbarian, and quickly determines he is still alive. Badly hurt, but alive and stable.
