M2: The Search for Goblin HQ

Charlarn did not see Jezibel mount a horse. Neither did anyone else awake with the party. The party cannot see where their horses were and doesn't know what happened to them. The Hobgoblins' horses are only a few feet away from the party. They are wearing saddles, have saddlebags, and appear ready to go. It is apparent, though, that they are not very healthy, are tied to trees, and are quite skittish.

In that case, Nurlan will begin moving back toward our horses (well, Tenebrynn's horse and Ashnar).

Somac: Male Human Bbn 2

Somac, healed, stumbles to his feet. He would thank Nurlan, but is too embarassed at having needed his friends' various healing powers too many times today. He then resolves to follow the cleric.

Charlarn of Phyrah: Male human cleric 3

Charlarn follow alongside the bard. (under the effect of expeditious retreat since round 36 or so) "Let's be careful Nurlan. I don't know why those fishmen ran. It could be a trap." He turns to Somac, "How are you doing, my doughty friend? Our enemies are dangerous, indeed."

Round 39

The party bolts back towards their horses. As they run across the open sand, several glance back towards the beach. They are greeted by an odd sight. A number of sahaugin are walking up the beach, emerging from the water. In the center is a particularly tall one, some 8 to 10 feet tall. Even odder is that it has an extra set of arms. It seems to have two torsos set atop each other. It is decorated in various shiny shells and beads and carries a trident even taller than itself. Several crossbow bolts are launced at the fleeing men. Three bolts hit near but thud harmlessly into the sand. Tenebrynn, Rinaldo and Charlarn make it past the large boulder and achieve coverage from the archers. Here they notice Ashnar sleeping peacefully in the sand. Beside him is Nurlan's horse, also asleep. There is no sign of Charlarn's or Tenebrynn's horses, or of Irene's pony. Nurlan, Somac and Tor, exaughsted or weighted down, are still stumbling through the sand, not quite to the boulder yet.

"What in Shurassa's name is that" exclaims Nurlan on seeing the latest round of the aquatic invasion. Realizing that he is a short dash from the cover of the boulder, and (he thinks) also from a chance to mount his steed, he forgoes magical speed enhancement, instead running at full mundane speed to safety.

Rinaldo di Senzio, hp:1/23

Rinaldo go up to Ashnar and looks at him. He tries to wake him up, slapping him if it is needed. "I know many people sleep on the job, but now, that's ridiculous. Come on, wake up. Someone, wake up the horse. Charlan, take my horse, I'll get on Ashnar's one. Nurlan, take Tenebrynn with you. There is not many way Jezibel and Irene could have taken, so we will think once that four-armed fish will be well behind."

Charlarn of Phyrah: Male human cleric 3

"What is that coming out of the water? Good thing we chose to leave the beach. I would not want to fight whatever it is."

"Right. We need to get away. More fishmen are streaming out of the water."
