M2: The Search for Goblin HQ

Somac: Male Human Bbn 2

Somac continues to run forward until his has cover from the boulder. If he still has his bow (does he?), he will then turn around and take a shot at the closest sahuagin.

OOC: Rinaldo doesn't own an horse. So, if someone would have lend him one (the city official?) he would have one. If not, he would have walked, and in that case, I will change Rinaldo's speach.

ooc: So these are our horses? Drat, I thought we had stumbled on some belonging to Jezebel's group.

Hurrying to catch up, Tor attempts to seperate Ashnar from the false fish man.

"It's OK, Ashnar. Just a disguise. Let's go, the enemy isn't far behind us!"

I think there were two groups of horses -- ours, in the back, by the trail whence we came, and another group, probably belonging to the hobgoblins we fought earlier, next to the hut. I don't know about Tor, but Nurlan at least was headed for the first group, partly because he already had a horse there which he didn't expect to be asleep, and partly because it took him in a direction away from the sahuagin. If any of the pedestrians among us would like to brave the sahuagin to steal the other horses, that's up to you.

Tenebrynn follows the others in a bit of a daze. Having been knocked unconsious twice in one battle is a little rattling to the librarian. Though they had just left their horses when it was necessary, Tenebrynn was shocked to see that his had run off while Nurlan's had fallen asleep.

"This is the work of Irene, I'd bet. I've seen her cast a spell that puts people to sleep. We should get out of here." he says, however seeing only one horse he just keeps running past the horses out away from the beach. He doesnt really want to face whatever that thing coming up the sand was just for a skittish horse that would probably bolt before he had the chance to get on it.

Tor follows, still attempting to catch his breath.

I don't think either Rinaldo nor Ashnar had a horse, and no one lent them any. So the only horse around is Nurlan's.

The barbarians and bard manage to escape behind the boulder before being struck by any more bolts. Ashnar and the horse are awakened and the group hightails it down the path. The speed is slow though, as everyone is wounded and very tired.

Somac pauses behind the boulder. Fitting an arrow to his bow, he leans around and fires at one of the numerous Sahaugin now marching up the beach. His aim is true and his arrow imbeds in one. Two crossbow bolts fly at him, one shattering on the boulder and one flying past. Oddly enough, he thinks he sees a man on the beach with the sahaugins. But at the distance he can't say more. He does notice a number of crossbows being aimed his way, and several fishmen pick up their pace trotting towards him.

When he gets there, Nurlan is startled to see the horse asleep, and Ashnar just being woken. "Brass dragon magic -- that was a specialty of Irene's. Taka's claws, has Jezibel managed to turn our halfling to her own side?" He thinks back to Gunyon. Does Jezibel too have arcane talents? If so, she is more dangerous than we had realized. But escape is too urgent right now to mull over the implications of this. After waking the horse he mounts it and gets ready to head down the path with the rest of us.

"Somac, are you coming with us?"

Awakened by being slapped, Ashnar's hand rushes to one of his daggers, even more so as he awakens to the sight of one of the fish-men, and only stops with Tor's timely warning.
"That was not very smart, Rinaldo. I could have stabbed you." He joins the group on the flight from the fishmen, regrettably on foot.
Hearing Tenebrynn's explanation, he frowns and states "I fear we cannot trust Irene if that is the case. She vanished during the attack on the moathouse, and you said that this happened before. Now she may have aided Jezibel's escape. Perhaps she hoped to catch Jezibel as well, but..."
