M4: Under the Volcano [Nimisgod judging] -CONCLUDED

"One!" Ogrin yells out as he fells his first foe.

He continues his attack by feinting an attack at the left hobgoblin, then switches target to the right one, hopefully catching his foe by surprise. He hopes the left hobgoblin will remain largely where he is, and thus unwittingly provide cover from the goblin archers. If not, he'll move with him so he still gets cover by from the archers.

Should his blow fell his second opponent, he'll yell out, "Two!" and then turn his bloodstained club towards the remaining hobgoblin while grinning wickedly.[SBLOCK=OOC]Feint roll: 18 (overcome with Sense motive+BAB or lose dex bonus)
Attack roll: 15 (forgot to add +1 for inspiring song... again)
Damage roll: 13 (9 if the goblin sees through the feint)

Stats:
To hit: Greatclub +1, Damage: 1D8+3 (+1D6 sneak attack)
Unarmoured AC: 14 (possibly +4 AC vs goblin archers from soft cover)[/SBLOCK]

Ac: 12, 31/34

Rinaldo take the hit and show great pain, almost going down. The hobgoblin, seeing his opponent falling, look aside to see how fare his companion. It doesn't take much for Rinaldo to swing his club on an unprotected area, doing a solid blow, suprising his opponent.

[SBLOCK=OOC]Feint: 30
Attack: 21
Damage: 3
Sneak: 6
Here the rolls

oops, I forgot teh song, so it should be att: 22 and damage total: 10[/SBLOCK]

Eanos, human monk

Eanos comes out of the reverie he's been in since the group turned onto the trail. He curses the weakness his near-drowning has left him with. Hoping to help without putting himself on death's door again, Eanos moves to aid Ogrin with his opponent, though he's clearly still feeling the sting of the water as his blow goes wide.

[sblock=OOC]Move to J12, then unarmed attack.

AC: 15
HP: 5 (hooray drowning :\ )
Attack: 8[/sblock]

[sblock]Spells prepared (Save DC 13 + spell level, or 14+ spell level for Evocation spells; 4+1/3+1/2+1): 0 - acid splash, detect magic*, flare*|x3; 1st - Ashnar's sparkstrikex3*|, mage armor, cause fear; 2nd - protection from arrows, scorching ray x3*|
Ashnar mentally recounts which spells he can use without his component pouch. Flare, my sparkstrike, cause fear, scorching ray. Technically also acid splash and detect magic, but those'll be rather of low use.[/sblock]
Ashnar will shoot a scorching ray at one of the fleeing goblin archers.

Rasereit Vundinn, Dwarven Barbarian (HP: 35/51)

Razh, despite the terrible wounds he has already been inflicted, fights back with a gusto. He tries to scare (1d20+4=13) his three opponents into submission, but their successful attacks give them more than enough reason to continue their assault without hesitation. Frustrated, Razh turns to one of the large bugbears and smashes (1d20+5=24) his sturdy wooden club down on its skull, delivering a world of pain (1d8+5=11) to the unfortunate creature.

[sblock=OOC: ]I forgot to add the bonuses for the song in the rolls. =P

Naked Stats:
HP: 51
AC: 13
Grapple: +7
Attacks:
- Wooden stick (club, two-handed) Atk +4 (BAB +4, STR +4, Improvised -4), dmg 1d8+4

Round 1 (con't)
Ogrin continues his successful attacks, feinting and striking down a second hobgoblin.
Nurlan begins singing. He moves in towards the combat.
Rasereit smacks one of the bugbears a heavy blow to the ribs.
Ashnar shoots a ray of fire, enveloping one of the goblins and dropping it into a heap of ashes.
Rinaldo feints successfully, and smacks the hobgoblin an uppercut with his club, breaking its neck with a snap.
Tenebrynn (NPCed) & Hogarth move in and pick up weapons from the slain goblinoids. Tenebrynn picks up a longsword and Hogarth a javelin from the second hobgoblin Ogrin killed.

Round 2:
The surviving bugbears and hobgoblins hold rank. The remaining goblin flees down the road in panic. The bugbear swings and barely misses Razh with its morningstar. The other bugbear moves to attack Nurlan, but also misses. One hobgoblin stabs at Eanos with his longsword, but the nimble monk avoids it. The last hobgoblin does catch Ogrin with his sword, sending a spray of blood (7 pts)

PCs...two bugbears and two hobgoblins remain engaged. The fleeing goblin is heading South and is about 80 feet from the party now. Three hobgoblins are down, two of whom have longswords and javelins.

"That goblin must not warn anyone..." tells Rinaldo, grabbing a javelin on the hobgoblin at his feet. he takes a five feet toward the goblin, trying to get strength in his throw.

[SBLOCK=Goblin]"Hogarth, like me."[/SBLOCK] tells Rinaldo as he throw his javelin at the goblin. He sees his javelin fly and hit directly the chest.

[SBLOCK=OOC]Natural 20 on to hit roll, for 4 damage. Here the roll.
Confirm roll on critical: 15, for another 4 damage. Here the roll.
Both roll are at +5 to hit, -4 for 2 range increament, +1 from the song for a total of +2.

As far as I can remember, that would be the first critical of Rinaldo... maybe I have just a short memory too, but ti is rare, even with his rapier :p [/SBLOCK]

Rasereit Vundinn, Dwarven Barbarian (HP: 35/51)

Rasereit attempts once again to strike fear into the hearts of his opponents. He fails (1d20+6=14) once again, probably due to his unthreatening appearance, covered only by a loin cloth and armed with only a big stick. His actions, however, prove him something to be frightened of, even without his gear. With a mighty grunt and a satisfying smack, his big stick connects (1d20+5=22, 1d8+5=6) once more with the same bugbear as before.

[sblock=OOC: ]I just read the rules on intimidate. It can be used on one opponent threatened by melee combat (I'll choose the bugbear I'm not fighting) and it's opposed by "the target’s modified level check (1d20 + character level or Hit Dice + target’s Wisdom bonus [if any] + target’s modifiers on saves against fear)" So whatever that is for the bugbear, you'll need to roll that DM.

Tenebrynn quickly casts one of his magic missiles at the fleeing goblin before engaging with the rest of the party. He'll try to flank as best he can and try to use the terrain to any advantage possible.
