"Oh, Frump came to me a couple days ago. Or perhaps you should say, my agents found him. I'm sure you recall that my long serving wizard, Antagra, was killed by those bothersome assassins this Causticus had hired. That was only a couple months ago, and I've been looking for a new one ever since. That's why I like you gentlemen so much, you see, you have proven yourselves so very capable. Frump here has told me his side of the story, of course. He says you overpowered him, and threatened his life, forcing him to take you to the Dragon's island. He figured you would be killed, and he'd be better off staying on Causticus' side. "Like many men, Frump here is motivated by fear and greed. I will pay him well for his service, and he has every reason to fear me if he betrays me. He is an old man, and wants to finish her years with luxury and prestige. I think he will do just fine."
"Of course, if one of you gentlemen is interested in the position, I might change my mind..." He looks at Tenebrynn and Ashnar questioningly.
