mage and wizard - power swapping

Against my better judgement I just subscribed to DDI for a month and am trying out the CB.

I created a mage. It will allow me to pick Wizard encounter and Daily powers but it won't let me pick wizard at will powers.

Is a mage actually allowed to swap in Wizard powers? If he is, is there a workaround for this bug?

I was able to; need to select "Show Other Suggestions" or some such I believe.

It works, but that said, the mage powers are so choice. The quality of wizard powers has been really hit and miss, but with the mage the powers they offered in HOTFL were just nice.

All things considered, if I were playing a mage, I could easily see myself picking only the powers from HOTFL anyway.

I did that but nothing happened. That was how I was able to grab the wizard encounter and dailies.

While the Mage at wills are nice so are some of the wizard ones. I've always been a Thunderwave fan, for example.

Thunderwave is nice, but unless you're going for a blaster mage, or concentrating on boosting thunder damage, Beguiling Strands is probably a better choice; it is a blast 5 vs blast 3, targets only enemies and pushes 3, which unless you are a Wis-focused wizard, is probably better push distance.

If you take Enchantment as your Apprentice benefit, that's another +1 push, and slot Orb Expertise, that's another +1. If you'd rather use a staff, there is a staff feat that allows you to slide an adjacent creature before attacking, letting you bump another baddie into your blast.

You could seriously fling some naughty creatures clear across a battlefield with mojo like that... or into a spike pit (make a save)... or off a cliff (make a save)... or into the lava (make a save)... or into that PORTAL TO THE ABYSS (make a save, unfortunately).
