D&D 5E Mage: Wizards, Sorcerers, Warlocks, Artificers, Psions, oh my.

I'm still not sure why everyone's splitting hairs between flavorful descriptions like "wizard" and "psion". As everyone knows, a magic-user doesn't become any kind of proper spell-caster (an enchanter) until 3rd level: 1st and 2nd level magic-users (medium and seer) are pretty much just psychics anyway.

Yes, they did- 1e AD&D had psionics in the PHB appendix. What it did not have was a psionicist class
