Magic Armor & Armor Check Penalty

Hi

If you have +2 half-plate, does the armor check penalty go up/down? The armor check penalty for regular half plate is -7. Does the +2 half-plate make the armor check -5? I thought I read this somewhere, but now I can't find it.

To answer your question, no. The armor check penalty would be -6, improving by one from being masterwork

you might be thinking of 2e where the + of an item also affected other things (weapon speed or saving throws).
