D&D 5E Magic in the world at large

Its essentially the superhero scenario. You have individuals from all races and walks of life with amazing powers who are basically gods who fight with other gods. Everyone else is little people.

I like this idea. It would require a tightly controlled magic economy though. Even monsters would have to be rare things to successfully pull off the "secret world" D&D campaign. Non-human PC races would also have to exist in very separate nations or regions, I think.

You can describe an entire setting around some of the core 5e spells.

Fabricate is a good example:

A kingdom with just 1 wizard capable of casting fabricate (and having proficiency to make armor)...could create full suits of armor 100's of times faster than traditional smiths for a typical kingdom. Such a kingdom would likely have the strongest army in the land. That wizard would be the source of constant assassination attempts. Etc etc.


That is just one example of what you could do
