I'm about to begin play in an evil campaign, my character is a cleric who is aiming for the Dreadmaster Prc from Dragon 287. What Im stuck on is magical items for him, I've been given 5400gp to spend per the DMG and dont know what to buy, now before anybody says cloak of charisma or wisdom, at 4000gp that is a significant portion of my starting gold for what I feel is an insignificant boost to my starts, or am I wrong? Fill free to pick over my character and provide suggestions for magic items and character improvement. It will be much appreciated.
