The ultimate collection of D&D magic items.

This supplement for the Dungeons & Dragons game presents over 500 new magic items, including affordable items that no adventurer should be without, as well as more than 750 of the best magic items from previously published D&D game supplements and campaign settings, Dragon magazine articles, and articles posted on the Wizards of the Coast website.

Each magic item is presented and catalogued in a new, easy-to-reference format that includes a read-aloud text description of the item.

Amazon.com tells me its scheduled release date is March 13. The idea of this is intriguing to me, but I have a feeling it's going to be as incomplete as the Spell Compendium. Things I'd like to see include:

- I know they're not going to include every item from the DMG, but it'd be nice to see a unified treasure % table from all of the books which shows which book and which page the item is on.
- Evening out slot availability. Ever notice how there are multiple items available for the necklace slot but only about 3 vest/shirts? I'd like to see a few more options for some of the less populated slots.

Are you looking forward to this book? What are you hoping to see in it?

Hell yeah I am!

I too am hoping for a fat treasure table. What I'd like to see is something like a master chart that says:
01-65 Roll on DMG charts
66-90 Roll on MIC charts
91-00 Roll on Psionics Handbook charts (or MIC charts if you aren't using psionics).

Then I am hoping for a good strong magic item chart of all the items in the book.

I'm hoping that they'll have a chart of potions of new spells, with the book they're in (or at least new potions of spells from the SC).

I'm surprised, pleasantly, at the inclusion of so many new items, though I'm half-sure that many of them will just be new potions, wands and scrolls; I was expecting more of a compliation of stuff already published, much like SC is.

I hope that some or all of these 'new' items are conversion of older edition magic items that haven't made it in yet. I'd love to see the return of the sword of sharpness, egg of desire, portable shadow, etc. There are so many great items from 1e and 2e we haven't seen yet- I hope this rectifies some of these missing goodies. :)

This is a book I am very cautiously optimistic about. To me, magic items are the best area for houserules, and the area players complain the least about when you intro new stuff. (in my group, trying to intro a self-made prestige class is a death sentence) So I am not sure if I will needd this one or not.

If it has a lot of good magic items, in a SC format that makes it a must-have book at the table I will probably get it.

No, I'm not. I'm not a fan of catelog books and I foresee players buying this to get cool magical items DMs didn't want in their game.

I'm waiting for this, if only for a reliable and handy, if not "complete", source to check out when prepping my games. Like the Spell Compendium, I think this is a must-have for my game table.

I bought these compilations in 2E. I hardly ever used them. I bought the Spell Compendium for 3E. I've read through it once. I think I am going to look at my "history" and realize buying this book is going to be a total waste of my money. Then buy it anyways.

No, I'm not interested in owning this book. As per Spell Compendium, really. Or any other Compendium-style thing. That kind of book just doesn't (well, wouldn't) bring anything to my DMing or playing that I actually want or need. For what it's worth though, I hope it's a good one.

I'll flip through it. Honestly, it's more likely to be a catalog of things I could make with my illusionist character (if that game gets going again) than for my campaign. I'm plenty capable of coming up with items that fit the campaign on my own. This book will mostly just be an idea grab-bag for me.
