Magic Item Compendium

I hope if a feat compendium comes out, they eliminate redundancies and note which feats have been replaced in this manner for things like PrC entry.

I'm looking forward to it, as I am a big fan of all things magic-item (and I wrote some material for it, so I want to see that in its final format). As for it being a shopping list for players, I seriously doubt I'll have any more trouble with that than I do the Spell Compendium, or for that matter the DMG or A&EG. But I can take a tough stance with players when I need to, and generally I don't even need to.

Get Loot 4 Less II: Rods, Staves and Wands

I'll definitely be buying this book, if just to look through it for items for my own character, but also for the fact that having a reference like this will be great for throwing down *unexpected* loot to my players. Usually, if I need something really outlandish to surprise them with for NPCs or the like, I fudge it or make something unique of my own. Point being, it doesn't overlap with my own magic item creation, so it's perfect.

Yeah. I kept getting bugged, over and over, to allow material outside the core. Then I did, and none of it gets used!

Might I suggest you run a few encounters with enemy spell users and so forth using some nasty combos of spells from the Spell Compendium?

Nothing like getting near TPK'd from a spell combo you never heard of before to get your defensive instincts going and your urge for revenge jonesing.
