Magic Item Creation...

I'd like to know the cost to buy a "Ring of Resistance to Hold" or the like.

Is there already something like this created? Can it be created? What do you think the logicial costs for an item like this would be?

Item creation costs.

I tend to use pg 74 of Tome and Blood as a baseline for items made. Take a look at it. I often also compare the item to an item with a similar ability/power when possible.

Sounds like someone is playing a fighter...

I'd take the value of a will save bonus item, and cut it in half for this specific spell.

A ring of counterspelling might also be a good item.

Lifebane: I was too busy with DMG last night I didn't get to T&B yet. I'll check that out tonight when I get home. Thanks. :)

Bastoche: Hmmm, I'll have to look that one up again, thanks.

Officeronin: Yeah, I already consider the Ring of Counterspelling, but then I'd have to get someone to cast Hold into each time it was used up. I could buy scrolls for that, but if someone tried to cast Hold on me more than once, I'd be in trouble. :) And, yes, it's a fighter type. Did rogue 1 level, fighter 4 levels and now 1 level in Master of Chains. I only have a Will save of 2 and I'm kind of worried since my last party got wiped out with Hold.

More recommendations are welcomed. If anyone knows the cost to actually buy an item made exactly the way I want, that would be great. :) Either Amulet or Ring or whatever would be fine. Ring would probably be the best really.

According to the SRD (don't have T&B with me), you can make an item with a limited save bonus. Example: +4 periapt of proof against poison.
The cost is "Bonus squared x 250gp". So, I suppose you could make an item that gave you a simple +4 on saves vs. hold or paralysis effects for 4000gp base price.

Far cheaper: look for Spellblade in MoF. +1 weapon enhancement which makes you immune to one spell. Buy a bladed boot +1 with Spellblade, which costs 8315 or so. Or a Claw Bracer ... or something.
