Magic Item Wish List????

I don't understand this concept of a wish list.

Its just extra communication from the players to the DM. Feel free to ignore it but more information passed the better.

FWIW I have been using Wishlists since AD&D1e and it works great and overtime is much fairer on PCs than random distribution.
