Magic items for Spellsword

Mystery Man

First Post
One of my players just took his first level of spellsword from Completel Warrior. He's got great stats, a sound strategy for leveling and feat progression but I've been feeling that he's been getting gipped in the magic item department.

What unique magic items would be good for a spellsword to use?

p.s. Currently he's on (and dragging everyone else with him :)) a quest for a ringsword.

what weapon does he use (is a ring sword a longsword, shortsword, greatsword, scimitar?) does he use a shield? what is his armor? is a wiz or a sor?

general advice: str boost, int/cha boost, con boost, armor boost (+ twilight); ring deflection, ammie natural, vest resistance, cloak displacement....

Well thanks but that can be randomly generated and/or bought at a magic shop. What I'm looking for is something unique that fits with this spellsword class that different and fun.

He's a Sor7/Ftr1/Spellsword1

A Spell Storing weapon (double your pleasure, double your fun).
Ring of Spell Storing (for when you don't want to blow one of your own).
Rod of Absorption (eat their spells to power your own through your weapons).

Better yet, yoink the ring-attaching ability from the Ringsword and apply it twice (once for each end) to a +1 Spell Storing / +1 Spell Storing quarterstaff. Put a Ring of Spell Storing on each end. For added fun, make it a Quarterstaff of Absorption. Unique enough for ya? :D

Cool! Although he's stuck on the whole "sword" thing and doesn't want to deviate his feat progression. I've tried something similar and was amazed that he wasn't interested. His loss I guess.

But that gives me an idea for something to use for a smack down, if needed. :]

No prob. The item I mentioned is a variation of the one that my Fighter/Wizard/Spellsword/Eldritch Knight has in one campaign. Throw in the ability from the Bow of True Strike, the wand-storing ability from a crossbow in the AaEG, the Ioun stone-storing ability from the Ioun Blade (I think), and a few other joyful surprises, and you have my character's weapon. Almost every bit of gp she received went toward adding more and more abilities to that darned staff. :D

Does your player's character plan to take the Arcane Strike feat (Dragon #3xx, later changed in CW)? It packs a goodly wallop for a Spellsword...
