Just read the pyromancy preview for the next kobold press book, deep magic 2. It is kind of how their magic is portrayed, a unique spell list drawing upon the standard dnd spell lists for its spells. It also gets some unique abilities, but unless I read it incorrectly it is in place of a feat and they don't appear to be worthwhile, though I would use them as ideas for bonus features in addition to a feat.
