Magic Weapon Special Abilities AND +1

To give a Magic Weapon a Special Ability you have to enchant it at least with an +1 bonus.
In your opinion: Would it disrupt the game anyhow, if you give out weopons without the "at least +1" or to allow players to enchant weapons this way?

Its your game do what you want. Giving a short sword the keen ability and not the +1 will not kill the game BUT whats the point.

or you could limit to one enchantment (maybe with a limit on the +'s) only ... (still MW though)

extreme: Vorpal Dwarven Waraxe ... [edit: and of course you'd still have to get past DR ...]

low: Ghost touch arrows ...

if I did do that, it'd def be only ONE enchantment.

I wouldn't allow it, because with Greater Magic weapon, all you need is +1 on your weapons anyway. To remove that +1 would lower the cost of special abilities for weapons below what they were designed to be.

For example, you could get a Vorpal Keen sword for 72,000gp instead of the 98,000gp it was designed to cost. With Greater MAgic weapon, the fact that it has no inherent plus is hardly a downside.

Yes this is bad. First the first +1 has a hit in it being already a masterwork weapon.

A +1 weapon gives you a +1 to hit and a +1 to damage

A +0 flaming gives +1 to hit and +d6 damage

Which do you want?

Also it severely cuts the costs of weapons for those with access to MW and GMW, hence hurting fighter typwes more.

not saying I'd ever allow it, but if it was limited ...

you need at least +1 to get all the good stuff, if all you have is MW then you can put one (and only one) +1 (market mod) on the weapon? (or 50 arrows)
