I could've sworn that said "Fruit Slaad," which puts a different spin on things.

WotC did us a favor locking up the Slaad in PI. Otherwise there would have been OGC Yellow, Orange, Pink, Chartreuse, Periwinkle, and polka-dot Slaad eventually.

Appropos of nothing, has anyone ever named their Slaad opponents? Chef, Cobb, Caeser, Waldorff, etc.

C5 or C6, one of the Celtic setting 1e modules, had a wizards tower of a jokester archmage (Tower of Ischabebble I believe) where one of the room challenges is a slaad in a toga wearing a laurel wreath on his head.
