WOIN Magical patrons and converts

I've decided to use the gods as patrons material in Appendix A of O.L.D. This has led me to thinking about what would happen if a spellcaster moves into a career with a patron from one that didn't. Like a mage with no patron who later finds faith and becomes a cleric of The Scholar. If they had the secret of fire would spells using that cost more as soon as they become a cleric? They could cast those spells before. Should the new career affect things they could already do?
This probably isn't something that has an official answer. It seems very campaign dependent, but I'd like to hear opinions on this.

Yea, I'd charge them the double cost if using a secret outside the Patron's secrets-of-choice. It would seem an affront to the Patron to use such magic.
