Okay, my question.:
Would it be possible within the rules to make a magical poison that shifts the drinkers perception of a person one point better.
IE a person who drinks the poison views someone Infriendly instead of hostile.

How about if there was no save?

It would have to require a save. Basically, you're making a potion like item. Charm person in a bootle or the like. Whom ever drinks it is possible charmed by the creator or even first person viewed.

Yep it's called potion of charm person. Use the gold cost and xps to make it and then you as the DM can modify it to do what you want. That means it only raises the perception of the person the 1 step. Give it a save and use everything equal to the Charm person spell.

You can make items that give no saves in the same way that spells can be done so. It would just be high level and exspensive, thus negating Potions as an option with their 3rd level cap. If you wanted it as a drink, you could do it as a Wonderous Item.

Instead of having a save what about first making it very expensive, and the players get a wisdom check to determine they are being fed something that has a similiar taste in everything?

My main question is, how balanced would it be?

Give me a day, and ill come up w/ one for you. the Quintessential Rogue has rules on creating poisons. Tell me anything else youd like on it....ill make a few suggestions here..

Damage: 1d2 Wis inital/Secondary, see below
Injested
Will DC 15
Spot DC 12
Causes effect similar to Charm Person

Cost: 115 gp

This is just going thru real quick to be like you asked. However, here is this one directly from the book.

Mindbreaker
Ingested; Dectect DC 10, Will DC 12; 2d4 Wis (1 minute)/1d4 Wis (3 minutes): 75 gp
Basically, the victim's willpower goes down (thanks to his lowered wisdom). it leaves his thought processes and reasoning unharmed, but interferes with his ability to resist temptations or magical spells.

Will either work? ill get back to you tomorrow w/ a better one if you want.

Well, basically I wanted a poision that effects someone with charm person but over a lot of doses. I didn't really want to give any wis drain. The whole purpose is to have the party leader digest this stuff and slowly come to like unfriendly_villain_001.

Hmmm....ill try to find something. I put in the wis drain because it doesnt give a price for something that doesnt do damage......but ill try for you.
