Magical quivers (or lack thereof)

What books have you used? Is there something in the Three Arrows for a King book by EN World Publishing, perhaps?

TB42 - Just jump in the gameday thread and ask about which ever games look good to you. The DM will let you know if there are generation guidelines or if there are pre-gens available. Free gaming and prizes included for everyone who signs up and shows up, can't be beat! :)

I have the Three Arrows...suprisingly, no quivers in there.

And about Gameday, I think I may have a wedding to be at that day. I'll look into it and see if I'm free...

Thanks for all the great quiver ideas! I think I'm going to have a chat with my GM and see if we can work out some kind of quiver that holds a lot of arrows and can cast silence once a day or something...that sounds like a fun idea to me.

Quiver of Plenty: Any arrow placed inside is "absorbed" by the quiver, and from thereon in infinite supply of said arrows can be drawn from said quiver. Only 1 arrow can be placed inside at a time.

Greater Quiver of Plenty: As Quiver of Plenty, but three arrows may be placed inside.

There was a whole article on magic quivers in Dragon in the late 80s/early 90s if I recall. If you had the Dragon Magazine Archive they could probably be easily converted.

Edit: I think :)

2nd Edit: damn.... It was all bows. It was Bazaar of the Bizzare in 1987, issue #127 "A bow is an archer's best friend".

Wow, what a nice name for the article.

To add something to this thread: I also play an archer, in a PlaneScape campaign. Because I get little opportunity to buy arrows, I had my quiver of Elhonna upgraded to produce 60 fresh arrows each day. Just normal arrows, nothing fancy. The DM charged me 2000 gp for the 'upgrade', which I think was pretty reasonable.

Bazooka Quiver

This normal looking quiver can used as such: to store up to 20 arrows. Once per day the user can wield the quiver on his shoulder and utter the command word. Upon doing this the quiver launches all the remaining arrows at once, causing d8 damage for each arrow left. Normal attack roll is required to hit. Anyone within a 10ft semicircle on the opposite direction from the shooting takes half the rolled damage as fire damage from a backblast.

Okay... That's kinda cool. But I would want to take into account the number and type of arrows left in the quiver when I go to figure damage.

I was creating a new character the other day, who's focused on the use of a longbow, and I was trying to find a cool/useful magical quiver. While the Quiver of Ehlona in the DMG is nice, it was the only one I could find.

What others have you seen out there and what can they do? And if you could be so kind as to mention the source, I'll think happy thoughts on your behalf.

Thanks, you're a peach. (and I don't mean that in a "BAM! Polymorph...now you're a peach" kinda way...)

Well, here's two from Andy Collins's web site (http://www.andycollins.net/Features/stuff_that_holds_stuff.htm):

Quiver of Arrow Creation: This simple quiver appears to hold 20 masterwork arrows within it. However, each arrow exists in a state of flux within the quiver, its physical properties not yet fully determined. When the wearer draws an arrow (a free action, as normal), he mentally chooses the material from which the arrowhead is forged (adamantine, alchemical silver, or cold iron, as described in the DMG). Once drawn, the arrow exists for only one minute, but for that minute functions exactly as a masterwork arrow of the chosen material and of an appropriate size for the user. Once all 20 arrows have been drawn, the quiver loses its power. Additional arrows cannot be added to the quiver.
Caster Level: 9th; Prerequisites: Craft Wondrous Item, fabricate; Market Price: 1,500 gp; Weight: 1 lb.

Quiver of Endless Arrows: This quiver is a boon to the expert archer, for it magically creates an endless supply of masterwork arrows (of an appropriate size for the wearer). Each arrow exists for only a single round after it is drawn. The arrows don't exist until they are drawn, so they can't receive magical enhancements while still "in the quiver," even by such means as greater magic weapon (though such effects can be added after the arrow is drawn).
Caster Level: 7th; Prerequisites: Craft Wondrous Item, minor creation; Market Price: 900 gp; Weight: 3 lb.

Mongoose's Quintessential Elf has a non-magical Elven quiver which adds a +1 Circumstance Bonus to an archer's Initiative, as long as he's using arrows in that round...

This comes fromt he WOTC site in the stats article about Cattie-Brie, Regis, Ivan and Pikel from R. A. Salvatore's series of novels. R.A. didn't do the stats for this.

Quiver of Anariel:Quivers of Anariel appear to be typical arrow containers capable of holding a score of arrows. However, the quivers automatically replenish themselves with standard or magical arrows, such that they are always full. Some quivers also create arrows made of special materials, such as adamantine, cold iron, or alchemical silver.

Once an arrow it taken from the quiver, it must be used within 1 round or it vanishes.

Moderate conjuration; CL 7th; Craft Wondrous Item, magic weapon, minor creation; Price 28,000 gp (standard arrows), 29,000 gp (masterwork arrows), 32,000 gp (+1 arrows), 44,000 gp (+2 arrows), 64,000 gp (+3 arrows), 92,000 gp (+4 arrows), 128,000 gp (+5 arrows); Add an additional +6,000 gp for adamantine arrows, +4,005 gp for cold iron arrows, or +200 gp for alchemical silver arrows; Weight 1 lb.
