They are going to apply the rules retroactively to all prior editions of the game to truly make it ONE D&D. All PDFs of older editions will be updated to reflect the new mechanics and social sensibilities of One D&D. OSR will now become ONE School Renaissance. Anyone caught playing with old rule sets that have not been updated will be disappeared by WotC Men in Black who take them away in black helicopters to One D&D re-education camps.

Contrary to what have been deduced from the current playtest, half-elves and half-orcs aren't being retired from the game. They will appear in the next package, as classes, so anyone can be an half-elf irrespective of ancestry, as befit the inclusivity policy of One.

A maybe-not-so-dumb question that just leaped to mind: what rule-set will be used in the upcoming D&D movie?

More to the point will Baldur's Gate 3 final release be delayed another 3 years to incorporate the new rule changes?
